Description

NKG2DL (NKG2D ligands) comprise a set of proteins that are expressed only when cells are stressed,e.g. by infection, senescence or DNA damage. These proteins include the MIC and RAET1/ULBP family members which are recognized by NKG2D expressed by NK cells as part of their scavenging function. NKG2DL are also induced by cellular transformation, allowing NK cells to recognize and kill cancer cells. ProMab's PM-CAR1109 primary human CAR-T cells express an anti-NKG2DL CAR containing the extracellular domain of NKG2D, hinge and transmembrane domains, the 4-1BB costimulatory domain and the CD3zeta activation domain.
